There’s a lot of commotion going on around town about the Brianna Denison case. The turmoil will reach one of its peaks this coming Saturday, when a memorial service will be held downtown for the late Brianna.
What’s so crazy about a memorial service? Well, nothing in itself. But if you throw in the Westboro Baptist Church members (who also like to be known as the "God Hates Fags" group), and you’ve got yourself a confrontation.

But wait a minute, this is getting confusing. What does this Baptist Church have to do with anything? Well, let’s just quote their schedule (emphasis is mine, except for the all caps part… that’s all WBC):

"This is for the memorial service for Brianna Denison. She was the "victim" of a serial rapist’s strangulation. We call it the Wrath of God being poured out on a nation of rebels without a cause. You brought this Wrath on your own head, Reno, NV because you (1st) raised your chidren to be dashed to pieces as rebellious, arrogant soldiers of a Doomed nation of perverts and (2nd) when we warned you to not go to Hell like the dead soldiers and OBEY YOUR MAKER, you lawless brutes did not obey your own laws; instead, you allowed criminal, disorderly conduct to take place betwixt our humble, peaceful preachers and your arrogant, filthy-mouthed and violent counter-demonstraters. :monocle: That’s right. So, they’ll be there, demonstrating at the funeral… and everyone who is at the funeral/memorial to honor Brianna, will be offended by the Westboro people. And that, my friends, is a recipe for confrontation.

Hopefully there’ll be no violence, and everyone will try to act maturely.

But honestly, if you think your God is punishing the city with such things, and you need to throw this into other people’s face, maturity is far from reach.

Anyway, an old friend from High School in Argentina contacted me a while back to see if I could get him a MacBook laptop. Apparently, back there, after taxes, importation fees and a lot of bullshit, they end up costing about $3000, as opposed to the $1400 that they cost here. So, we talked about it for a bit, and we devised a plan.

Using Moneygram, he wired me the $1400 needed. I picked them up, which was pretty straight-forward and easy, and with fourteen Benjamin Franklins (or, one hundred and forty :tenbux: ) I headed down to the nearest Apple store, which happens to be in the Summit Sierra, the mall way South of Reno.
The purchase was very easy, and five minutes later, I had a fancy box with a brand new shiny laptop.

I’ve been using the MacBook, as agreed with my friend. I’ve loaded pictures, movies, games and applications. I’m going to make it look like I use it all the time… so that when I go through customs, I can write it off as it being mine, and not as something I’m importing. That way, I’m saving him a lot of money, and I’m sticking it to the man.

I hope I don’t go to jail!

I first heard about this yesterday, unfortunately, so I’m already out of the loop, but I will be a good sport and participate from now on. A memorable picture of the Mo’ will be displayed on the last day of November, Movember, and an update to this post will take place.

Also, the reason why my hiatus is taking a little bit longer, is because my mom is visiting me. She will be here until next week, so probably after that, I’ll get to sit down for an hour or so and type a long post about what’s been going on in the last 6 months. It’s what they’d call "juicy", I guess.
