It’s been a few weeks since we signed up at the gym, and now that I’m done getting used to putting stress on my little body, it’s time to start lifting heavy.

I try to do my workouts with mostly compound exercises, and using no machines, all free weights. The three core exercises are:

Bench Press:
Umph This is easy to understand :) At the moment, I can only lift about 125lbs, but always with proper form and a nice burn by the end of the last set.
Squat:
Aarrghh! This was my best lift when I was in the Weights Class in High school. If I remember correctly, I was doing over 300lbs! Right now I can only get up to 145 without having a massive heart attack. But I expect this one to be the lift in which I see the most progress.
Deadlift:
Waaahhhh! AKA the ass kicker. I can’t even do 100lbs on this, but it works my entire body. Maybe I should start doing this at the beginning of the workout, instead of in the middle or towards the end.

I also do sit-ups, and I try to do pull-ups. Those are hard :( My record is two. After the compound exercises, I do a few more things here and there, and at the end I stretch a bit. It usually takes me between an hour to two to get really tired, and that’s when I know I’m good to go. If I’m even beginning to get tired after an hour, I know that next time I’ll add more weight.

I have taken a “before” picture, but I won’t be posting that until I can see a notable difference in my build. Maybe in a couple of months :)
