[oops. I thought I had posted this! It looks like I had just saved it, and never published it. My apologies. This is all from September 17th]
It is true! As of last thursday, I am 24 years old.
The day started like any other day, getting up early, going to work and all that. But at night we had a little party that turned out pretty awesome, if I may say so.
It all started at around 7pm, and we had people over for some pizzas. The Aikins showed up first, as I had expected, since they live about 15 houses away, and then more people started coming.
It was really fun, it was the first serious birthday party I’ve had in the US… I don’t really remember what I did for my other birthdays on years before, so I wanted to change that, and I decided to have a party for myself ![]()
The most memorable moment was when Stef told me she was giving me her present.
She said it was also from Gary and Lisa (my in-laws), and that it was sitting on the driveway, waiting for me. She blindfolded me and led me there, and of course everyone got there before me (since they could see where they were going), and they were looking at the present.
Then, when I was able to take my blindfolds out, I saw it. A huge box, with some pretty bows on it, a basketball on top of it. Oh yeah, what was in the box? Why, I think I’ll just show you a picture of the box, ok?

Whoa!
When Stef had asked me what I wanted, I did tell her I would love a basketball hoop, but I don’t recall asking for the most awesome hoop out there! It was a serious kick-ass gift, and I love it.
On Friday evening I spent a couple of hours putting everything together, and I wasn’t able to finish, so it got finishes yesterday afternoon. Ryan (our roomate) helped me test it. As it turns out, he’s quite the basketball player himself, so I am foreseeing lots of basketball being played.
Today Sunday we played some 1-on-1, and my right arm is already feeling weak!![]()
Anyways, enough about the birthday and basketball. If you want to see more pictures of the evening, let me refresh you that at http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicoyogui, I have a few more pictures, at all times. You can see this link to the right of this text also, so don’t say you never knew!
In other news, I’m starting to get bored at my current job, and I am actively looking for a new one. I’ve sent out resumes to a few places already, and I even have an interview on Tuesday, so who knows, maybe I will be switching jobs once again.
Also, I have been looking at some webhosting solutions, and I will probably be soon changing things on my website. I’d like to have my own blogging package and specially the picture albums, and at the moment it looks like I’ll be using Word Press and Gallery or ZenPhoto. Stay tuned, or maybe you’ll just be surprised one of these days!
